Arrival Day

You'll be met at Barcelona Airport and driven into the Pyrenees to your base in Bielsa, gateway to the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park. After check-in, there's time to build your bike or settle in to your rental, followed by a welcome dinner (or lunch, depending on arrival time) and a full briefing on the week ahead.

Day 1 — Bielsa and the Pineta Valley

We start close to home in the Pineta Valley, one of the most dramatic corners of the Spanish Pyrenees: 3,000 m peaks, dense forest and a network of trails built for shuttle-assisted riding. Expect a full day of big descents before heading back to base for a well-earned aprés-bike.

Day 2 — Ainsa's Classic Trails

A transfer takes us south to Ainsa, twice host to the Enduro World Series and home to the area's distinctive grey dirt trails, known locally as Margas. The terrain here rewards strong legs more than shuttle laps, so depending on the group's preference, we can swap the van for e-bikes on this leg — a proper change of pace, and one of the highlights of the week.

Day 3 — Crossing into France

We continue north and cross the border into the French Pyrenees, climbing through high-mountain singletrack in the Aure Valley before dropping into trails shaped by a completely different riding culture on the other side. A proper change of scenery, and one of the highlights of the week.

Day 4 — Loudenvielle World Cup Trails

A day on trails built for the world's best: Loudenvielle has hosted Enduro World Series and UCI Downhill World Cup rounds, and the descents reflect that pedigree — fast, technical and seriously well built. Wet or dry, this is a proper test.

Day 5 — Back to Bielsa's Hidden Lines

Our final riding day stays close to base, returning to the Pineta Valley to pick off the zones we didn't reach earlier in the week, or re-riding the best descents and our favourites.

Departure

A relaxed morning before the transfer back to Barcelona Airport — plenty of time to swap stories from the week before your flight.

TRIP ENQUIRY

High Mountain Base keeps you in Bielsa for the whole week — gateway to the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park, surrounded by peaks over 3,000 m, with the Pineta Valley right on your doorstep.

From Bielsa, day excursions take you south to Ainsa and its distinctive grey Margas trails, and on across the border into the French Pyrenees for Loudenvielle's World Cup-grade descents.

TRIP ENQUIRY

This is proper high-mountain enduro: long, sustained descents through a mix of alpine terrain, technical rock and fast-flowing singletrack, with daily elevation loss regularly running well past 1,000 m and up to 2,500 m on the biggest days. The trails span two countries and several distinct riding zones — from the Pineta Valley's alpine character to Ainsa's exposed grey Margas dirt and the World Cup-grade descents around Loudenvielle. Shuttle support does most of the climbing for you, though some days call for a steady pedal to access the best lines.

Skill Level Recommended:

Advanced

Roots, rocks, drops and tight switchbacks are no match for you even in steep and exposed terrain. You feel confident in riding longer trails with sustained technical features as well as handling some exposed sections with no-fall zones.

Fitness Level Recommended:

The Striving Prospect

You can pedal uphill 1 hour per day and climb 300 m during consecutive days of riding. You don't mind steep uphill climbs for about 10 to 15 minutes at a time. Downhill you happily ride up to 3,000 verticals per day. You exercise on average 2 times per week.

TRIP ENQUIRY

Arrival Day

You will be met at Barcelona Airport by a LeRipp representative and driven to Casa Guilla (Fox House), your base for the week in the heart of Pallars Jussà which is approximately 2 hr 40 min from Barcelona. On arrival, settle in, get your bike ready, meet the team and get a full briefing over dinner on the trails ahead.

Day 1

The first riding day is all about finding your rhythm. We start close to Casa Guilla with a warm-up ride through forest singletracks, descending into the picturesque town of Salàs de Pallars. This is a gentle introduction to the terrain. In the afternoon, a 250 m pedal unlocks the Nerets area, where the Sant Antoni reservoir opens up below you before we drop into some of the area's signature trails: Slick Rock and Arizona Cactus. A few more shuttle runs wrap up the day before we head back to the terrace for aperitivos.

Day 2

We start from the doorstep of Casa Guilla with a steady 250 m climb, which leads straight into the first big descent of the trip. A long, natural trail with around 650 m of elevation loss and a great mix of terrain down to the valley floor. From there, the rest of the day belongs to Roques Pelades or "Naked Rocks", one of Tremp's most iconic enduro zones: grey sandstone slabs, flowing forest sections and spectacular views. We spend the afternoon shuttling further descents in the same zone, including Valkyries and Escorpins, before regrouping for the ride back to Casa Guilla.

Day 3

We head to La Pobla de Segur for the first of two days in this zone. Shuttled to 1,000 m, we continue climbing by bike to 1,489 m, nromally the biggest effort of the week, and every metre is repaid in full. What follows is the Rocalta ridge: around 889 m of elevation loss across four linked singletracks: rocky and loose freeride terrain, chunky conglomerate rock and forest flow with a real Wild West feeling. We regroup in the village of Sossís before the afternoon continues near Toralla with flowy but consistently spicy trails with natural features, drops and jumps if you wish.

(On 4-night trips, this is the final riding day — and it's a proper send-off.)

Day 4

Back to La Pobla de Segur, but a completely different world. We shuttle up to Montsor, an abandoned hamlet at 1,200 m perched among massive rock formations and open sky. The descents here offer real variety and character. Expect technical conglomerate rock, open ridge sections and forest flow.

Day 6

The final day on the bike, and it saves the best for last. We start high at 1,350 m with ridge singletracks before dropping into fast forest trails. Expect around 850 m of elevation loss to open the session and from there, flow rules: a string of shuttle runs through Tremp's most celebrated serpentines, finishing on the trail everyone keeps asking about, Dragon Khan. Bikes get packed after the riding and we sit down for a proper final dinner at Casa Guilla.

Departure Day

Breakfast, check-out and a transfer back to Barcelona Airport. After five days of the best trails Pallars Jussà has to offer, you'll be back. Hasta la próxima.

TRIP ENQUIRY

During our Pyrenees trips, we stay in carefully selected accommodation that reflects the character of the region. Depending on the trip option, group size and availability, we typically stay at either Casa Guilla (Fox House) in Tremp or Hotel Terradets, located on the shores of the stunning Terradets Lake.

Casa Guilla is a premium private venue in the heart of Pallars Jussà, featuring nine individually designed suites, amazing views and tucked away into the mountains. The property is also available on an exclusive-use basis for private groups.

Hotel Terradets offers comfortable lakeside accommodation with excellent facilities, a swimming pool and spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, making it an ideal base for exploring the best riding in the region.

Whichever property we use, the focus remains the same: great hospitality, excellent food and easy access to world-class mountain biking. We work closely with local producers, chefs and wineries to provide generous breakfasts, packed lunches for the trail and relaxed evening meals that showcase the flavours of the Pyrenees. Most riding areas are located within a short distance, keeping transfer times short and maximising time on the bike.

TRIP ENQUIRY

The trails around Tremp and La Pobla de Segur are raw, authentic and refreshingly uncrowded. Shuttle assistance does the heavy lifting. Typically we pedal 300–500m of per day, while the descending is more extensive: around 3,000 m of elevation loss daily across trail types from natural flowy single tracks and sandstone slabs to exposed ridgelines and technical enduro terrain. Routes are always calibrated daily by a certified local guide based on group level, trail conditions and weather.

Skill Level Recommended:

Intermediate

You have ridden enduro and/or downhill mountain biking at least 10 times and master root sections and rock gardens as long as it's not too steep. You still handle the steeper trails while they are not too technical.

Where You Will Ride:
Two Bases Across the Pyrenees

We ride from two home bases in the Pyrenees: a southern base in the Catalan foothills and a high-mountain base deep in the Aragonese range. Together they cover the full range of Pyrenean mountain biking, from fast, flowing valley trails to remote, high-altitude descents.

The Southern Base: Tremp & La Pobla de Segur

Our Catalan base, set in open valley country and built around long, varied riding days. The two towns sit a short drive apart but offer completely different riding.

Tremp: The endurance heart of our southern base. Wide-open landscapes and fast, flowing trails make it ideal for big-mileage days, with dirt paths and picturesque valleys opening onto expansive mountain views. It's the less technical, more endurance-focused side of the Pyrenees, perfect for riders who'd rather cover ground than queue for an uplift.

La Pobla de Segur: A short hop from Tremp but a completely different character. La Pobla de Segur delivers steep climbs, technical descents and some of the most untouched trails in the whole range: dense forest, rocky terrain and epic descents for riders who want the Pyrenees at their rawest.

The High-Mountain Base: Ainsa, Bielsa & Loudenvielle

Our Aragonese base sits deeper in the range, with bigger terrain and a serious enduro pedigree, reaching over the French border for the highest, most rugged riding we run.

Ainsa: A medieval town with world-class trails, Ainsa caters to every level, from smooth, flowing singletrack to technical enduro routes, all fast, fun and varied. Whether you're on an e-bike or chasing enduro lines, this is where you ride hard and discover a new side of the Pyrenees. Many riders consider it the Pyrenean MTB mecca.

Bielsa: Up near the French border, Bielsa serves the most remote, rugged riding we run. Expect ancient mountain passes, thick forest descents and natural rock formations, all above 1,600 metres, with panoramic views over peaks and valleys. This is the place for solitude and adventure.

Loudenvielle: World Cup trails in the Louron Valley. Over the border in France, Loudenvielle is where natural, technical riding meets world-class pedigree: a UCI World Cup venue with steep, rooty descents, 30-plus enduro stages and a top-tier bike park. It rewards everyone, not just racers, and it's the natural French highlight on our Ainsa/Bielsa weeks and the northern end of the A-to-B traverse.

Which base is right for you?

Choose the Southern Base (Tremp & La Pobla de Segur) for long, varied days mixing fast valley flow with raw, technical trails. Choose the High-Mountain Base (Ainsa, Bielsa & Loudenvielle) for bigger alpine terrain, World Cup-grade enduro and remote, high-altitude adventure.

FAQs

What’s included in a guided MTB tour with LeRipp?

Our tours include expert local guides, comfortable accommodation, trail snacks, lunches during rides and shuttle transportation to and from trails. We handle all logistics so you can fully enjoy your MTB vacation in the Pyrenees.

Which Pyrenees trip is right for me?

We run three Pyrenees trips. Choose Tremp & La Pobla de Segur for long, flowing rides and big-mileage days with a technical option close by. Choose Ainsa & Bielsa for bigger high-mountain terrain, enduro trails and remote backcountry. Or choose our A-to-B traverse to ride across the whole range in one trip, point to point. Not sure? Tell us your fitness, experience and what you want from the week, and we'll match you to the right one.

Do I need to bring my own bike?

You can bring your own bike or easily rent one of our top-quality mountain bikes from local providers.

Are the trails suitable for all skill levels?

Absolutely. Across these five regions the terrain ranges from gentle, scenic rides to challenging alpine descents. We adjust the tours according to the group's abilities and preferences.

What happens if weather conditions change?

Mountain weather can be unpredictable, but the variety of terrain across the Pyrenees means we always have alternative plans to ensure you have a fantastic experience, regardless of the conditions.

Which airport should I fly into for the Pyrenees?

For the Spanish side, Barcelona is the main gateway and our usual base for transfers. For the French regions around Loudenvielle, Toulouse is the closest airport. We arrange transfers as part of your trip.

When is the best time of year to ride the Pyrenees?

The season runs roughly from spring to autumn, though it varies by region. Lower areas like La Pobla de Segur and Ainsa ride almost year-round, while the higher alpine terrain around Bielsa and Loudenvielle is best from June to September. We'll match your trip to the conditions.

Is the Pyrenees better than the Alps for mountain biking?

It's different rather than better. The Pyrenees offer wilder, quieter trails and a more natural, off-the-beaten-track feel, with fewer crowds than the big Alpine resorts — ideal if you value solitude and adventure over lift-served laps.

Do you offer e-bike tours in the Pyrenees?

Yes! Check out our Pyrenees e-bike tours for effortless rides through the same stunning landscapes.
