During your stay in Chamonix you will either be staying at Whymper Chalet Hotel in the middle of town or at one of our preferred Hotels. The Whymper Chalet is a like a "home away from home" but run as a hotel. It has a total of 10 bedrooms, all with a private bathroom. You will also find a cosy living room / lounge area where you can all hang out and enjoy a beverage together. The living room is centred around a wood burning stove, a large dining room, a bar area, a small office area and a terrace with an outdoor lounge. There is also a sauna where you can relax and enjoy a cold beer after a day of riding.

Arrival Day

You will be met at Geneva airport by a LeRipp representative and driven to your chalet. Upon arrival you will have time to settle in and make sure you have everything for the first day of riding. In the evening there will be a welcome dinner where you will meet your guide who will briefly explain the itinerary for the week.

Day 1

Hearty breakfast in the morning followed by a brief meeting to explain the day's agenda. Typically, the first day we start with some lift accessed riding in Le Tour or Les Houches to warm up and make sure that you are one with the bike. After a full day of riding, laughing and sweating, we will head back to the chalet for some afternoon snacks and relaxing time.

Day 2 & 3

Two full days of epic mountain biking where we will explore the best trails Chamonix has to offer. One of the days will be spent in one of the neighboring valleys, in Italy, where we will enjoy areas such as Pila and La Thuile in Aosta valley. We tend to shift around the itinerary based on the weather, lift status, as well as the conditions of the trails in order to create the best possible experience for you.

Day 4

No plans day. Normally we recommend that you take this day to rest your body and explore one of the other awesome activities around Chamonix. If you have not yet visited Aiguille Di Midi, it is a must do while in Chamonix. If you can't stay off your bike, you can of course go riding by yourself and we are more than happy to point you in the right direction.

Day 5 & 6

Another two full days of awesome mountain biking. This time we will explore some of the more unknown areas around Finnhaut and Martigny in Switzerland and perhaps try one of the more famous enduro trails from Les Saisies to Albertville. Again, the guides will decide on where to go based on lift status or road access in order to create the best possible experience.

Departure Day

Wind up the trip, pack your bags and head back to the airport with big smiles on your face.

TRIP ENQUIRY

The riding in Chamonix is often characterised by steepness, roots and fairly demanding single tracks. During the Chamonix Classic trip, there is a lot of variation to the trails we ride. Some offers steep root and rock sections, others long flowy trails in the woods. We often combine technical sections together with easier more flowy trails in order to create the best possible variation of trails. We normally use the help of a van or lifts to reach the start to our trails but sometimes we do have to pedal or hike & bike for a little bit in order to reach the best trails in the area.

Therefore, to get the full “Chamonix Mountain Biking Experience” we recommend being an advanced mountain biker and average fit. However.... with access to both Italy and Switzerland there are trails available for all kind of levels, so do not hesitate to reach out should you not be an advanced rider.

Skill Level Recommended:

Advanced

Roots, rocks, drops and tight switchbacks are no match for you even in steep and exposed terrain. You feel confident in riding longer trails with sustained technical features as well as handling some exposed sections with no-fall zones.

Fitness Level Recommended:

The Striving Prospect

You can pedal uphill 1 hour per day and climb 300m during consecutive days riding. You don't mind steep uphill climbs for about 10 to 15 minutes at the time. Downhill you happily ride up to 3000 verticals per day. You exercise on average 2 times per week.

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
